Brian Anderson's Oliver 1365 Story

Our Oliver 1365 was built in December 1974. Dad bought it from Judson Implement in Judson, Minnesota. He already had an Oliver 1465 built by Fiat and liked it so much he decided to buy the 1365 too. By then he was done farming, so this tractor was bought just to take to shows.

Dad and I took it to shows in Butterfield, Minnesota, Madison, South Dakota, and Waseca, Minnesota. I've got a lot of good memories with this tractor, but my favorite was when we took both the 1365 and the 1465 to the HPOCA Summer Show in Madison. We drove both tractors in the parade, and people really enjoyed seeing the two Fiat built Oliver’s together.

Dad passed away in 2020, and his tractors stayed on the family farm. I enjoy going on tractorcades, and I wanted a tractor that would run at least 12 miles per hour, so I decided to buy the 1365 from Mom. We agreed on a price, and it became mine.

Before I could take it anywhere, it needed a little work. Mice had chewed the wiring behind the dash, and the starter was bad. I rewired the dash and had the starter rebuilt. After that, it was ready to get back on the road.

Since then, I've taken the 1365 on tractorcades in Butterfield, Minnesota, Trimont, Minnesota, and Wolford, North Dakota. I always enjoy the ride and spending time with fellow collectors.

I also wanted to learn more about the tractor's history, so I contacted the Floyd County Museum in Charles City, Iowa. They helped me get the original Certificate of Ownership and the factory inspection report from when the tractor was built.

Every time I drive the Oliver 1365, it reminds me of Dad and the good times we shared. I'm proud to keep taking it to shows and tractorcades, just like he did.
